Taking the moral high ground

Is a parlance for those who remain committed to some form of universal justice, upholding it no matter what. It is regrettably said that, in modern society, those are the dreamers and suckers. That the optimal way to play out your cards in life would be to practice morality only when it is to your benefit to do so. I recently came across a few passages by the economist Robert H. Frank and he challenges the notion that doing the morally right thing would make us worse off in life. He argues that the honest individuals often succeed, because their commitment to principles makes them more attractive as trading partners. Hey Robert! Keep it coming, we moralists need such bandages to ease the pain.
